Glimpses of Autumn

Autumn in Nova Scotia typically peaks in October, though exactly when depends on the area, and it can vary from year to year. On the south shore autumn extends into November, with the underbrush turning rich colour. To me, the ‘shoulder’ seasons – just before and just after the peak, are just as interesting as the brilliant (almost unreal) colours one sees when the foliage has peaked.
